ISA students walked to their new campus and deposited letters into a time capsule.

Scottsdale, Arizona, April 4, 2016- Under beautiful Arizona skies, the students, staff, and parent chaperones of the International School of Arizona (ISA) joined together recently to walk from their current campus at 91st Street and Via Linda, to their new campus at 95th Street and Via Linda. The ISA participants were accompanied by officers from the Scottsdale Police Department, and patrol vehicles with flashing lights added to the fun for the students. Once at the new location, students deposited letters, entitled “A Letter to Myself for the Future,” into a time capsule, to be opened at a later date. Students chose whether to write their letters in Spanish, French, or English – the three languages taught at ISA.

The new campus property includes a 59,500 sq. ft. three-story building on a 3.7 acre parcel. The transaction was finalized last fall and the architects and builders of SPS+ Architects and Thrive Construction, are entering the final phase of the campus renovation. Besides classrooms, a library, and a music room, amenities will include a cafetorium with indoor and outdoor dining areas, a rhythm and movement room, and multi-purpose outdoor spaces. ISA will start the 2016-2017 school year at the new location with school beginning on August 8. Acquiring the new campus fulfills a major goal of ISA’s strategic plan.

"The International School of Arizona has been growing significantly over the last decade due to a greater appreciation of mastering a second (or third) language." said Dr. Ettie Zilber, ISA Head of School. "Our diverse community values cultural awareness combined with our rigorous academic offering. Purchasing this beautiful new campus, allows us to offer this extraordinary education in a safe, state-of-the-art facility.”

ISA offers a full language immersion program in French or Spanish, with French, Spanish, and American accreditations. It is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and the Arizona Association of Independent Schools (AAIS). Currently enrolling for the 2016-2017 school year, ISA invites interested families to contact Kathy Mabry in the Office of Admissions at 480-422-6024 for more information or to schedule a tour.
